I have a set of Knee/shin guards. I typically wear them when I want to ride hard. But they are a must on some of the trails I ride. It's not a bad idea to wear them, just take them off while doing long climbs and strap them on when bombing the hills. Or you can always keep them on, you'll hardly notice they're there.</description>
