Save the Snakes Part Deux

April 18th, 2005 by Tim Grahl

I posted awhile back about some quacks people in New York trying to band mountain bikers from a five mile loop of trail to save the endangered rattlesnake population. I scrounged up yet another article about the situation. First of all, looks like the protesters numbers are off a bit. Instead of there being less then 100 of these vipers, there are probably more like 3,000 to 6,000 in the area. Secondly, I still fall back on my original statement that I can’t imagine there being a growing epidemic of snakes being killed by mountain bikers. Here in Central VA we have a pretty strong population of snakes and neither me or any of my buddies have ever killed a snake while riding. Seriously folks… this kind of stuff has gotta stop.

Well, then Jeff I really didn’t understand the letter, but what I got was: ” we should help the snake’s” and which we shouldn’t,
Why the heck do we? All snakes have ever done is poision people and kill poor deffentless animals such as mice and lizzards.
If I were to get straight on to my twenty’s, I would make a site of people who are mad and theese worthless noodle’s.

p.s. Maybe you get a mongoose and feed him or her live snakes.
