Shaving in So. California
April 12th, 2005 by Guitar TedRecently I decided to do what most men wouldn’t do, unless they are cyclists. I shaved my legs! You’re probably asking what I was smoking that made me decide to shave my legs?
I ran an online poll on Socaltrailriders.org and 17 people responded. Out of the 17 only one said he shaved. With figures like that, I wasn’t really convinced how this would benefit me. So ended up just doing it! I shaved my legs to see if there is an overall benefit.
So Far I’ve noticed very subtle pros:
1. Looks good, my legs look buff.
2. Cooler, my skin cools off faster
3. Easier to clean, especially the thorns that get like to grab on.
4. If I crash, I can easily clean off the wound and bandage it.
5. I am about 0.0001seconds faster.
Shaving is not for everyone, but I figured I will give it a try. I am not so sure how long I will keep them shinny and hairless, but for now, I will keep them like this until I am done with my race at SOUTHRIDGE on the 30th.

Women love it. I have to beat the ladies off with a frame pump.
Best answer I ever saw was Ann Landers or Dear Abby responding to the question “Why do male bicycle racers shave their legs?” Her asnwer was “So their leg hair doesn’t get caught in the chain.” Caught in the chain! Fucking brilliant!
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s so frickin’ funny!
fixedgear says,”I have to beat the ladies off with a frame pump.”. This is sooooo disturbing on so many levels! Must be a fixed gear thing?
Fixedgear must be right, my wife actually likes my hairless legs…C’mon Ted, get on the shaving wagon and join the cult…I meant the club!
