1×1 Riding

April 12th, 2005 by Mike

Tim and I hurried home from work yesterday so we could hit the trail before it got dark. I took the Diamondback XSL Trail and Tim brought the Redline Monocog. I adjusted the suspension on the Diamondback so my pedals wouldn’t smack any roots or rocks this ride and it seemed to work great. About halfway through the ride we switched bikes so I could have my first real ride on the Monocog. I was a little hesitant at first because of the lack of gears and suspension. As soon as I took off I knew I was gonna love that bike. We went down a pretty steep hill right of the bat and with no suspension it was pretty rough but so much fun.

It reminded me of the good old days of my Knight Rider bike I had in Greenville, S.C. That was the bike that I discovered the Man Pain on. My dad watched and laughed while I headed straight for a brick wall. At the last second I tried to dismount, that was very stupid. My balls went on a collision course with the back of the saddle. I will never forget that bike, I think there is still a little of my balls left on the seat. Good times!
