My Surly Karate Monkey broke in seven rides and Surly would not warranty the frame. Such a large company should stand behind their product. I will never buy another Surly and discourage anyone else from buying such a lemon. Certainly not worth the money I paid.

I found this after trying to google who their frame manufacturer is. Taiwanese, yes, but which factory?

With that said, I like their stuff. I've got a track hub of theirs that's as mussless and fussless as they come. Oh yeah, a Surly track cog as well.

I'm glad I read this interview. I knew Surly was part of QBP, but they sound pretty autonomous and able to do what they feel. And I love my bean green CrossCheck.

Okay, enough of the struggling Captain Kirk routine...

I really did enjoy the interview, and I am going to buy a Long Haul Trucker - just freaking because I want one, okay?? It doesn't matter that it'll sit idle for months at a time, only to shine when I bring it out into the light for the long hauls once a year, if I am lucky. No, I'm not bitter, just a realist. A realist with a biking problem, a touring problem at that.

I finally saw a pic of a bike I fell in love with: great design, etc. pink with a brown seat.*****Surly*****
It jumped out at me.
Problem-- mysteriously it seems hard to find these bikes. Want to see a lot of models on the web and don't. Live close to Philly- have to drive there I guess.
What's the deal? I don't feel $900.00 + is a blue collar price. So not sure what you all mean, but I can't get that pink bike out of my head!!

Hmm... I like the idea of the Pugsley, I could probably put a rifle scabbard on it too. Too bad about Dave, though.
