Auburn Bike Works in Auburn, California put on the Cool Mountain Bike Race Sunday. They had a great turnout of 425 racers and mother nature had a little fun in store for them.

COOL - Organizers of the Cool Mountain Bike Race thought moving the event from February to March this year would make for a drier, warmer event.

It was almost like Mother Nature sent a nasty storm specifically to punish the 425 racers who thought they might get off easy at the 13th annual Cool Mountain Bike Race Sunday.

Event organizer Lisa Kodl said that although the race filled up, many didn’t show up because of the weather. But chilly rain, thunder, lightning and even a hailstorm couldn’t keep the die-hard mountain bikers away.
