Bike Safety for All

March 17th, 2005 by Tim Grahl

Mike and I took Jack, the owner of our local bike shop, out for coffee last Saturday. We chatted about all kinds of things and at one point fell into quoting Napolean Dynamite. By the way, if you haven’t seen it yet, you really need to. By far the funniest movie I’ve seen in a long time.

Another thing we discussed was working to get bike lanes and safety for commuters in front of the public’s eye a little bit more in Lynchburg and surrounding cities. Usually when I consider this, I think about most of the jackasses behind the wheel and pretty much think it’s a lost cause. However, I came across an article at TownOnline.com about Robin Schulman who was just elected to her second term as president of the Board of Directors to the Massachusetts Bicycle Coalition, also known as MassBike.

The article does a good job expressing her concerns and outlining the accomplishments she has made for cyclists in her city and other parts of the country. Have a read and start thinking how you can make biking a safe alternative in your area of the country.

That’s pretty flippin’ sweet. Now excuse me. I need to go tame a wild stallion.

I’LL DO WHAT EVER I WANT…GOOOOSH! But my favorite scene is when Uncle Rico throws the steak at Napoleon while he’s riding the bike with Pedro on the pegs…..!!!!!! Oh man, GREAT MOVIE!

My fav part is when he is running from Uncle Rico and climbs that ten foot fence then falls off the top of it. Freakin hilarious.
