New Ibex 2005 Bikes
March 10th, 2005 by Tim GrahlIbex has many of their 2005 mountain bikes in stock and ready to ship. The full suspension Ignition series and the hardtail Alpine series are both available. You can also get special pricing if you reserve one of the three other lines coming in a couple months: full suspension Apogee, Freeride Zone or hard tail Trophy.
If you compare the Ibex bikes to similarly priced models from other manufacturers, their component setup will usually beat out the competition. They are able to keep their prices down because they only sell direct to the rider. Also, they are super nice guys and have a good record of customer service.
Coming this Spring, Mike and I will be building up both a Trophy and Alpine frame. Stay tuned for all the juicy posts that will surely come from that.

That new DH/FR bike they released this year looks like it can handle some crazy stuff!
Is it just me, or is the Apogee suspension design exactly the same as the old Diamondback/DBR V-Link? Note that the rear pivot is above the dropout, unlike a Horst link (Specialized FSR or Diamondback XSL).
Being related to the V-Link is not a bad thing, by the way - I ride a 1998 model and love it.
Hmmm…it looks the same but but different….
Here’s the DB

And here’s Ibex

That’s a DBR X-10. Here’s a photo of my V-Link, which looks a lot more like the Ibex:

Ibex is known for paying for their reviews and cherry picked ratings. They are known to market to noobies who know little about bikes. I would recommend staying away from Ibex, and if anything test ride at your local bike shop first before buying anything online.
Dude you’ve no idea what you’re talking about. I know a lot of Ibex riders and none of them are paid. Just spreading the word about good bikes and good company… There’s been too many bogus reviews floating around even on mtbr which the mods have taken cared of and banned the IP adress… You wouldnt happen to be one of those guys now would you???
I bought an ibex zone fr-1 last summer and i love it. Trust me they do not pay me. Ur obviously one of those that needs a name brand bike or else u think its crap. Find me a bike for $1200 that will out-perform the zone fr-1. U wont be able to find one. Maybe ibex’s next freeride model will be better than the zone. But thats it.
Jack is one of the only truly stand up guys I’ve encountered in the entire bike industry. His dedication alone is enough to warrant considering an Ibex, never mind the fact that the bikes themselves are incredible values. I have two and couldn’t find complaint in either even if you wanted to pay me to do so.
