Mountain Bikers Unite! A Call to Action

A U.S. Senate Committee recently voted unanimously to move The Northern California Coast Wild Heritage Wilderness Act (S. 128/H.R. 233) to the Senate floor for full consideration. This bill is designed to designate more than 300,000 acres as Wilderness and ban mountain biking from 170 miles of singletrack trails. It is expected to pass and move to the House Resources Committee for consideration and finally to the U.S. House floor.
IMBA is urging all mountain bikers to contact their U.S. Representative and, specifically, Congressman Richard Pombo (R-CA), the chairman of the House Resources Committee, and ask, no, tell them to delay action on this bill until a compromise is met that will accommodate mountain bikers. Supposedly Pombo is very attentive to public input.
