Free class teaches mountain bike road rules

If you’d like to go mountain biking but need a little push to get started, head to South Mountain Park and Preserve from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Park rangers will lead a free beginner mountain bike ride and give tips on safety and bicycle maintenance starting from Ramada A (the north ramada) at the Pima Canyon entrance at 9904 S. 48th St. This easy-to-moderate ride will take you between five and eight miles.

“Our job is to remind people how to stay safe and how to use the trails,” said Glenn Ackley, park ranger supervisor at South Mountain Park.
