Klean Kanteen

Klean Kanteen I have had the stainless steel Klean Kanteen for about five months now. I constantly keep it with me in the car, at work and on all my rides. I love the durable steel design that keeps it safe when dropped and bashed into things. I did manage to put a small dent in the bottom of the bottle, although I can’t remember how. Probably when I was trying to hit that squirrel with it. Also, the best thing about this bottle is that water doesn’t have a nasty taste after sitting in it awhile. I have left the bottle full of water in the front seat of my car with the sun beating down for a couple days and then taken a nice swig and it still tasted good.

Although the bottle does hold liquids well, there is basically no insulation. This may be common sense for some of you, but I thought for a moment that a metal container equals carrying the black goddess of caffeine in it. I don’t suggest this unless you pick up one of the insulation sleeves to carry it in. Otherwise you are gonna burn your hand something awful. That’s experience speaking.

Although I bring along the Klean Kanteen on all of my liesure rides, I would not recommend it for racing. It does come with a sports top, but the steel design keeps you from squeezing the bottle, which means the water does not come out quickly. I ditched the sports top for the screw-on top and just use it as an excuse for a break.

The Klean Kanteen folks are great in trying to make everything as environmentally safe as possible. What little plastic they use is the safest form that can be used. They tried explaining why, but my eyes just glazed over after a few seconds of technical speak. I just take their word for it.

The bottles come in both 27oz and 40oz sizes and they have a bunch of different insulation sleeves and carrying cases available. The price of $12.95 is pretty good considering it is gonna out last any other water bottle you own.

Hey That actually looks pretty cool. It has that classic nostalgic look. What a good deal for $12.95

Very Nice! I’ll have to check them out. I picked up a stainless steel, double walled. cylinder at the Trek dealer show, in August last year. Everyone that attended got one. The “double wall” means Black Goodness stays warm all day, and doesn’t burn your hands! Don’t worry, you can get sommething similar to mine through Campmor. They have several reasonably priced models to choose from. Maybe one of you Blue Collar dudes could post that up for us? Please?
