My Warp ds2 is great..I bought it here in Japan about a year ago and have logged nearly
4000km on it..mostly street riding and a little bit on trails..upgraded to Deore brakes
and went to paddle shifters which give V fast gear changesI sometimes want a little more speed <so one day a gear upgrade but the Shimano
Altus is a good system for the time being..broke the bottom bracket but was a cheap fix.Have just installed a 125mm Pro parts stem ..a little weighty but lets you really dig in to the strokes and seems to dampen vibration as do the Grips..it s a faihful bike ..when I Im 35km`s from home I know it will get me back in comfort and safety...I recommend it to anyone who wants a superb mtb without dropping a lot of cash!Happy trails!

i have a ds2 which has run me about $2200 at this point. it has dropped 6-7 feet on many occasions. the stock suspension did not allow for this. i replaced the rear spring with a 1000lb. and upgraded the front fork to a rock shock recon 351 u turn with lock out. with the 130 mm of travel i can run over just about anything. it does however create a situation where the front wheel comes up on really steep hills when traction allows for it. ive ridden ACs and reigns but i will always come back to my "little faith" for the fast technical stuff. all around it is a tank when the time is taken to put the weaker parts into a box and drop the money for gear that u can trust your body with. GREAT BIKE!

Watched a friend throw his down the mountain twice (sierra de san christobal near puerto de santa maria in spain). Wiped dirt off the grips, the blood off his hands and knees and kept riding hard... didn't seem to climb as well as my hardtail though. seemed to have much better control on the fast downhill single tracks though. (At least until the tumbling routine... hee hee... shoulda got that one on film...

I agree with your assessment on the Warp. I have covered about 3000km in the US and Australia on mine (Warp DS3 - 1999 model) and it has been great. The frame is about to wear out due to stress fractures near the rear suspension mount. I need a new 20.5 inch frame if anyone has one for sale. Alternatively, I have a 18.5 inch new frame and can sell the whole bike (fitted to the frame) for $200.
