For local news we have some race announcments. First off is the the next Mountain Cross race:

For those of you not able to attend the first Mountain Cross, make plans now to attend our second race in Angler’s Park in Danville. March 6th at 2:00 pm is when we’ll start. If you’ve never raced your mountain bike, but would like to give it a try - this is a great format in which to do it. Give us a call 434-385-4157, or email info@bikesunlimited.com if you have any questions. The entry fee is only $7.00 - the post-race meal is worth every penny of this!

Also, the annual Virginia Derailer series:

It’s back and better than ever, The 2005 Virginia DeRailer has been expanded this year to include another race locality. Nelson County, VA will be joining the series with a sixth race. Race date TBA.

The Virginia DeRailer as always, starts in August and finishes in early October with the Poor Mountain HillClimb and series awards ceremony. This series is designed to attract local casual racers, kids, as well as serious regional racers. Each race features special amenities for the competitors as well as a post-race feed.
