Many nutrition experts who work with physically active adults say its about time. Carbs were getting an undue bad rap.

While a diet low in carbohydrates might be a solution for losing weight, it’s not the right choice for individuals who participate in endurance sports such as cycling.

“Carbohydrates are fuel for our muscles,” said Catherine Kruppa, registered dietician with The Houstonian. “Athletes should not be on a low-carbohydrate approach to eating.” Keep reading.

    It’s funny you brought this up. A few years ago, I was trying to cut some weight, so I decided that Atkins was the way to go. Big Mistake!
    I couldn’t ride for very long before I bonked and I couldn’t lift weights either.
