Monocog Rides
February 7th, 2005 by Tim GrahlTook the Monocog out for a couple spins this weekend. It kicked the ever lovin’ crap out of me. I’m used to defaulting to the granny gear every chance I get so being forced to actually work on the ride was a rude thing to do. Also, the seat isn’t as cushy as my GT and between that and the rigid forks my balls got slapped around a bit.
Anyway, even with the beating I am falling in love with this thing. I think it’s that psychology crap where you tend to cling to someone who treats you bad. Oh well, it’s a quick bike and I still had a blast riding it. Probably have to get a larger rear cog before I take it on anything with a lot of climbing. I’ve been told I’ll screw up my knees if I don’t… thanks Troy.

I totally dig my Monocog. I’ve been riding it all over since I got it. A couple of quick tour reports are here:

This summer, I’ll be riding the bike from Canada to Mexico along the spine of the Rockies in the Great Divide Mountain Bike Race:
