I am Blue Collar
January 17th, 2005 by Tim GrahlSince our site is constantly getting new people visiting, we like to remind people every once in awhile why we are here and what we do. First of all, we got sick of looking around and feeling like we had to drop three months worth of pay to get a decent ride. Pick up MTBAction or Mountain Biking magazine and they are full of ads and pictures of riders with the top-of-the-line bikes. Meanwhile, we hit the trails with our bikes that all cash in under $500 and we have a blast. Sure there are good reasons to upgrade, but whatever keeps you on two wheels is enough. Secondly, we couldn’t find a good site that constantly kept up to date on new deals available and wrote coming from our perspective. I am a weekend warrior that fits in small rides after and before work during the week and try to hit the long loops on my two days off. We know what it’s like to pay all the bills and stuff the remaining thirty bucks in a jar every two weeks trying to save up for that Trek you have your eye on.
So if this is who you are, you have found a good place to hang out. We have the comments here so you can give us feedback on how awesome we are or how bad we suck. If you feel like you could give good input, email us and we can set you up with a username so you can post on the blog as well. We are here for the love of biking and what it means to the everyday blue collar rider.

Tim,
I appreciate you and your boys putting this site together. You guys have done a great job. I totally know what your talking about when you mentioned having a bike tha cost less than $500. Heck my Gary Fisher was $200! I have been able to save up some cash to buy a new Giant Warp, but I did it the bluecollarmtb.com way…I looked around for the best prices kept shopping around until I got it for $450, which normally retails $550.
Thanks again for all your hard work, keep it up!
Now if I could just win the monthly give away….
