Along the lines of the #6 comment, this is a little steep, but I wouldn't say it is gouging. If the parts cost any less, no one would even bother to sell them. The price also does not reflect the part itself, but also shipping and the costs of holding inventory, which are certainly higher than the part itself. I don't know any bike shop owners (and I've known a few) who roll around in big piles of cash at night....

I do support my LBS, that's why I am buying a bike from them in two weeks. I just don't support price gouging for little items like that.

Quit being such a tight-ass. Running a bike shop is a tough business with all the bottom-feeding web jackholes out there. Support your local and stop whining.

I was called another LBS and the mechanic said he had a few of the bosses laying around and would sell a pair to me for $5.00.
I was really impressed with his help that I might buy my new bike at tgheir shop just because he hooked me up. I plan on buying a Giant Warp or a Raleigh Ram by the end of the month.
With my new bosses, my current bike is up and running.
