Shoes and Games

December 22nd, 2004 by Tim Grahl

I found a great deal for you today in the shoe market. The Shimano M221 has gotten great reviews and have been recommended a good bit. The cheapest price I was finding was $135 over at PerformanceBike.com. However, I checked at Bikesmart.com and they are going for $107. That’s over 35% off retail.

I ran across something pretty cool this morning while surfing around. It’s Karapoti - The Mountain Bike Game. This board game involves everything from terrain to what supplies you should take on the ride. It is based on a New Zealand Mountain Bike race that bears the same name. The board game site looks a bit out dated but I sent in a request for how I can buy the game. I’ll let you know if I find out anything.

Tim, while $107 at Bikesmart is a good price, it is a 3 year old shoe. The same shoe in the 2004 version is available right here in Lynchburg, Va. at Bikes Unlimited for $139…about the same price Performance has the old shoe on sale for.
