Peaks View Park

December 19th, 2004 by Mike

About 10 minutes from my house, there is great trail system at Peak’s View Park. Peak’s View supports many activities like Frisbee Golf, basketball, softball, tennis, soccer, and of course, mountain biking. It’s not a big park, but for the mountain bike junky who can’t stand to go a few days without riding, it feeds the appetite pretty well.

Peak’s View is comprised of many different trails. The trails are all single track with very distinct trail markers. Our favorite is the Roller Coaster trail that takes you through a series of six feet tall narrow hills and transitions into some shorter and faster rolling hills. You can get some nice air through this section. The Roller Coaster spits you out at a three-way where you can head to the second trailhead or up the mountain to some more challenging trails. You can ride for a good two hours and not set foot on the same trail twice.

From the beginner to the advanced rider, Peak’s View can accommodate all skill levels. It has easy trails for the novice riders and nice rock-riddled technical trails for the more advanced rider. The trails are also short enough for the beginner or intermediate to try a more advanced trail and not lose a day to fatigue. Between 10 and 20 local riders meet at Peak’s View on Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. for a nice mid-week ride. I would definitely recommend Peak’s View to all levels of riders. Hope to see you out there one day soon!
